Last Night's Party

So what really happens after hours in Maui? Find out at our next photo show, “Last Night’s Party” opening Sunday October 24th at 8pm. This group photography exhibit including Sean Michael Hower, Jessica Pearl, Jack Grace, Justin Orr , Brendan Smith and more will inspire you to get out of your hole and live it up with images of the vibrant nightlife scene right here on this little rock. From private house parties to big rock shows and underground artsy happenings, this show aims to spotlight those that think its worth the effort to get creative and go big…and the fabulous people that show up.

Black Light Special with DJ Blast

DJ Blast, the #1 Local DJ voted by Maui Time Weekly, is kicking off  once a month theme blowouts – First Mondays at the Shore Shore Tiki Lounge. On September 6th, he will be outfitting the bar with black lights galore so wear your whites and score glow goodies from The Love Shack.

The Pin Up Girlz event was a smashing success and we wanted to take this chance to pull together all the pics and videos that came from the party. Relive the glamour once again:

Pin Up Girlz

Cats and kitties, unleash your most glamorous pin up girl wardrobes for a naughty night of retro style and vintage love. Island Girl Pin-Ups will unveil modern day pin up makeovers, dressed to the nines by Bohemia Boutique. Get your pin up pose on in a1950s Ford Thunderbird and 1929 Ford Woody Wagon arranged by Classic Cruisers. And if that ain’t enough, get in the mood… by the pin up art of Rachel G, Yvette Yvelle, Francis Halloran, Rob Westphal, and Teddi Martinez. Cudra Clover will be in the house to play her sexy exotica, vamporama music and Kanoa will close out the night with live music. Whether you go for sailor suits or bathing suits, prize for Best Dressed Pin-Up is a photo session with Island Girl Pin-Ups so don’t get shy with the red lipstick.

The Great Napkin Doodle Art Show

With help from our friends at Indigo Paia and Maui Thing, South Shore Tiki Lounge announced a call for entries for The Great Napkin Doodle. Over 25 contributors scribbled, painted, sketched for a worthy cause – Keiki Cupboard. These works will be featured online and displayed at the South Shore Tiki Lounge for sale as little as $20 with all proceeds benefiting Keiki Cupboard.

Join us for the opening party June 6, 2010 at 8pm with musical guest Kanoa. Exhibit will be displayed through July.

South Shore Tiki Lounge is requesting donations of cocktail napkin art for a show all about pure fun and good heart. Selected works will be featured online and displayed at the South Shore Tiki Lounge for sale. $100 cash prize for Best in Show as voted during the opening party on June 6, 2010. Exhibit will be displayed through July.

Proceeds will benefit Keiki Cupboard. Keiki Cupboard is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essentials to Maui’s school children.  They believe that no child attending school should lack the basic needs for successful integration into their academic environment.

Submission Guidelines

-All entries must be submitted with completed entry form by May 15, 2010
-Framed entries are encouraged, but not mandatory
-5 entries per person maximum
-Artists may use any napkin
-Drop off your entry in Kihei at South Shore Tiki Lounge or Paia at Indigo (across from Charley’s) or in Wailuku at Maui Thing.

Tiki Art Show

South Shore Tiki Lounge recently announced a call for entries for a tiki-inspired art show and received an amazing diversity of pieces including the digital paintings of Ron Pitts, pen and ink drawings of RachelG, painted silk hangings by Cudra Clover and a hand carved tiki by Scott Johnson.  

The Tiki Art Show will kick off on Sunday March 14th at 8pm with an opening party. Exotica DJ Cudra Clover will provide the perfect tiki lounge music with DJ Joey the Wrench closing out the evening.

Rachel Deboer, theater coordinator for the Source Arts Festival and director of the recent black light body painted dance show “Birth of Tiki” will be showing a slideshow presentation of pictures from this groundbreaking show presented at Source.   

South Shore Tiki Lounge has asked the artists to contribute a portion of any sales made to Kihei Youth Center. This crazy fun exhibit will run through May, but don’t miss the opening party!
