Whether documenting musicians, his travels, or the recent Tedx Maui event, photographer Sean Michael Hower always puts his personal stamp on his impressive body of work. Opening on Sunday, January 29th at 8pm, he will have his first solo photography show at the South Shore Tiki Lounge. Kanoa, a musician Sean loves to capture, will be playing at 10pm. Come support!

You may have caught Kihei artist Reuben Cantere’s work on the walls of Maui Thing, the surfboard sign at South Shore Tiki Lounge, or this amazing piece in Lahaina. We are excited to feature his latest work for the month of December at Tiki with an opening this Thursday, Dec 8th.
Kihei, skate, surf and his recent trip to Tahiti all inspire this art show so come down, support, and spread the word!

Going Wild + Wicked this Sunday
Come dressed as a wild and wicked creature of the night and enjoy art from Maui’s most creative artists: Jaisy Hanlon, Daniel Sullivan, Luana Coonen, Dr. Gary Greenberg, Gabriel Mott, Rachel Gonzalez, Debra Rice Casey, Lelilani Hasbrock, Teddi Martinez, Yvette Yvelle and more… Kanoa on the mic at 10pm.
Plant a Wish is a native tree planting awareness project holding native tree planting ceremonies in all 50 states, and will culminate in a documentary film. A portion of proceeds any art sold during the exhibit will be donated to Plant a Wish as well as 10% of dinner sales on opening night. The Plant a Wish tour closes out right here in Hawaii on November 5th so let’s celebrate Sara and Joe’s remarkable accomplishment and help them reach their goal!

Calling all artists! South Shore Tiki Lounge is hosting a nature-inspired art/photo show themed “Wild + Wicked” in support of Plant a Wish. (plantawish.org). Plant a Wish is a native tree planting awareness project holding native tree planting ceremonies in all 50 states, and will culminate in a documentary film.
Think creatures of the night and underground. Moonbows, not rainbows. The dark mysteries found in the wild. If you are interested in participating, email [email protected]. Pieces will be showcased at South Shore Tiki Lounge for the month of November with an opening Wild + Wicked costume party on Sunday October 30th.

Last Night's Party
So what really happens after hours in Maui? Find out at our next photo show, “Last Night’s Party” opening Sunday October 24th at 8pm. This group photography exhibit including Sean Michael Hower, Jessica Pearl, Jack Grace, Justin Orr , Brendan Smith and more will inspire you to get out of your hole and live it up with images of the vibrant nightlife scene right here on this little rock. From private house parties to big rock shows and underground artsy happenings, this show aims to spotlight those that think its worth the effort to get creative and go big…and the fabulous people that show up.
A Cupboard for Lihikai
We are really proud to announce our community raised $1200 for Keiki Cupboard with the Great Napkin Doodle. The funds will furnish elementary school Lihikai in Kahului, which serves over 1000 kids, with a cupboard of supplies for the entire year.

The Great Napkin Doodle Art Show

With help from our friends at Indigo Paia and Maui Thing, South Shore Tiki Lounge announced a call for entries for The Great Napkin Doodle. Over 25 contributors scribbled, painted, sketched for a worthy cause – Keiki Cupboard. These works will be featured online and displayed at the South Shore Tiki Lounge for sale as little as $20 with all proceeds benefiting Keiki Cupboard.
Join us for the opening party June 6, 2010 at 8pm with musical guest Kanoa. Exhibit will be displayed through July.
